Julie Chen Moonves, who was among the first hosts and moderators on The Talk (a Daytime Emmy Award award-winning talk show) was back on the air in August for the 22nd episode. She was a writer before becoming host, but her passion was to write. In fact, it earned her an Emmy. The fact that she hosted an amazing entertainment talk show has earned her another Emmy. Between 2002 and 2010, Chen Moonves was the co-host for CBS News' morning weekday broadcast The Early Show. Prior to that, she was the CBS Morning News anchor and hosts on The Early Show. Chen Moonves was tasked with reporting from Cairo in the aftermath of 9/11. In Cairo, she scoured down and interviewed the father who commanded hijackers for an eye-opening and interesting interview. Chen Moonves has interviewed newsmakers such as former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Queen Rania of Jordan as well as former Defense Secretary William Cohen, and celebrities including Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Viola Davis, Tom Hanks, Mary J. Blige, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Cruise, Ben Affleck, Barbra Streisand, Betty White, Jamie Foxx, Scarlett Johansson, Katie Holmes, Matthew McConaughey, Chris Rock, Mel Brooks, Robert DeNiro, and Jennifer Lopez. Chen Moonves has also worked with CBS's New York City station WCBS as a reporter, anchor, and producer (1997-1999). Before joining CBS News from 1995 Chen Moonves had been as a reporter at WDTN TV Dayton. While completing her last semester at college, she was an assistant for ABC News in Los Angeles (1990-1991) as well as the producer of ABC NewsOne (the network's affiliated news channel). She began her career working as an assistant with ABC News, working on the late-night program Nightline alongside Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel remains one of Moonves' journalism heros. Chen Moonves collaborated with Koppel on the Columbia duPont-winning special Anatomy of a Riot which focused on the Los Angeles riots of '92.
